Nine Inch Nails are “excited about starting on the next record”
Last summer, Trent Reznor admitted that he didn’t “really want to do anything right now” with Nine Inch Nails. But in a new interview, the frontman and Atticus Ross reveal that they “kind of have an idea” for a record…
Promising news, NIN fans! It looks like the band might be up for a new album at some point in the future after all…
Last summer, frontman Trent Reznor admitted that he was focused on being a family man, and was prioritising watching his children grow up over touring and releasing a new Nine Inch Nails record (while of course still doing the band’s incredible soundtrack work). However, in a new interview with GQ, it seems as though they’re starting to feel that creative itch to do something.
Trent and bandmate Atticus Ross were interviewed by the publication after being named as one of the winners of the Creativity Awards, and they celebrated by talking all about just that.
Following a whole lot of soundtrack stuff lately, the frontman teased that these projects had consequently “managed to make Nine Inch Nails feel way more exciting than it had been in the past few years. I’d kind of let it atrophy a bit in my mind for a variety of reasons.”
Meanwhile, Atticus agreed, “I do feel excited about starting on the next record. I think we’re in a place now where we kind of have an idea.”
On top of all that, GQ report that Nine Inch Nails have been building their own new company, which will deal in “film production, fashion, a music festival, and a venture with Epic Games”.
Wow! Bring it all on…
