Nine Inch Nails and Dr. Martens tease Downward Spiral collab

Nine Inch Nails and Dr. Martens are teaming up for three “hard-hitting” designs celebrating 30 years of The Downward Spiral.

Following on from a Downward Spiral collab with Welcome Skateboards in March, Nine Inch Nails are teasing a whole new drop with none other than Dr. Martens.

The industrial legends will be once again celebrating their 1994 masterpiece (because why not?!) by teaming up with the legendary footwear company for a collab that marks 30 years of their second album.

Though they haven’t given much away yet, Dr. Martens tease three “hard-hitting silhouettes incorporating industrial design references”: “The 8-eye 1460 boot in a stark black and white design from the album’s iconic artwork. The 3-eye 1461 shoe in black with a Crystal Teeth design from the album. And the extra tall 10-eye 1490 boot inspired by the band’s uninhibited live shows where they would cover themselves in corn flour for a decayed, post-apocalyptic aesthetic.”

If you can’t wait to find out more, NIN’s creative director John Crawford has announced that he’ll be doing a Reddit AMA this coming Monday, July 15 about the collab – so get your questions ready!

“I’m really excited to be talking more about this in the very near future!” John says. “In fact, I’ll be answering questions about the collaboration next Monday, July 15, on Reddit (r/nin).”
