New Zealand mum names her three kids Metallica, Slayer and Pantera
Stuck on baby names? Just call your kids after three of the biggest metal bands on the planet. Simple.
Earlier this year, a mum went viral on Twitter after their newborn baby was accidentally named Korn due to a hospital error (the name was supposed to be Kora). Now, several months later, the spotlight is shining on another mum for more metal-related reasons: this time, because her three children are purposely named Metallica, Slayer and Pantera.
The New Zealand parent's story was made public by David Farrier via his Webworm newsletter and Twitter account, with the journalist and actor cheering up Metal Twitter in a big way. David says that the mum – who remains anonymous – told him, "It’s not easy raising three of the heaviest bands," with the child named Metallica also having a middle name of …And Justice For All.

New Zealand's registrar-general Jeff Montgomery explained to David that: "There are no restrictions on naming babies after bands or albums, as long as the word used is not generally considered to be offensive or does not resemble an official rank or title."
Interesting. Maybe we'll go for, uh, Mastodon or something in the future, then?!
