Nergal Is Working On New Music For Behemoth And Me And That Man
Behemoth frontman Nergal gives an update on his band's new material
Today, Behemoth release their new A Forest EP, which features two brand-new tracks from the I Loved You At Your Darkest sessions. Frontman Nergal previously described the record as a "transitional EP release as we move towards our new offerings" and more than just a selection of B-Sides.
But it turns out that these "new offerings" are already taking shape. Speaking exclusively to Kerrang!, the vocalist says he's been using this period of isolation to work on Behemoth and his Me And That Man project.
"For this very moment I don’t go to bars yet, I try to stay away from big crowds but I will be in the studio with a bunch of guys recording music. With Me And That Man we’re working on the next record. I’m on my way to the studio and I can’t even say what it sounds like because it’s so diverse. There’s a new song with more of a punky vibe – there are definitely more songs that are uptempo and punky in a Clash kind of way.
"Then I’ve been doing stuff on my own at my place for Behemoth. That’s more like domestic home studio work and then I’ll send the files to Inferno (drums) and Orion (bass). They will just add their pieces and they would just work at home as well.
"We already have a few serious chunks of new music that we’ll start working on collectively from July."

With a Behemoth EP and a Me And That Man full-length already released in 2020, Nergal's creative output is in overdrive. And with summer plans scuppered, including a headline set at Bloodstock festival, he's using his newfound free time as best he can.
"Me And That Man and Behemoth are both on creative mode now and I don’t want to slow down," he continues. "I’m pretty slowed down when it comes to my life. There’s more space, there’s more air in my life, which is awesome. But I’m really using that time to stay creative and do stuff that is going to loom out next year for sure. So keep your eyes open, there’s some amazing stuff coming up."
