My Chemical Romance perform Cancer live for first time in 10 years at final Milton Keynes date
At the final night of their three-gig stand in Milton Keynes, My Chemical Romance performed a beautiful, stripped-back version of The Black Parade’s Cancer for the first time since 2012.
Last night (May 22), My Chemical Romance continued to mix up the setlist on their incredible comeback tour, and for the final night of their three-gig run in Milton Keynes they performed a beautiful, incredibly emotional Cancer for the first time in 10 years.
Onstage, vocalist Gerard Way admitted that it was "too hard" to play The Black Parade ballad at their 2019 comeback show at The Shrine (referring to the fact that the band's former manager, Lauren Valencia, passed away from cancer that July), and he was still clearly wrapped up in emotion as he and keyboardist Jamie Muhoberac played a stripped-back rendition at Stadium MK.

Elsewhere on the night, My Chem continued to open with epic new single The Foundations Of Decay, while airing all their classic singles (Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na), Helena, Welcome To The Black Parade, Teenagers, Famous Last Words, I'm Not Okay (I Promise) etc.), plus plenty of deeper cuts and fan-favourites – from Give 'Em Hell, Kid and Mastas Of Ravenkroft to Boy Division and Headfirst For Halos.
