My Chemical Romance On Their Three UK Stadium Dates: "It's Beyond Our Wildest Dreams"

The members of My Chemical Romance have been stunned by the UK's response to their upcoming stadium shows in Milton Keynes.

It's been a whirlwind time for the MCRmy, who have been watching on eagerly as My Chemical Romance have been announcing shows and then selling them out instantly.

But not only have the fans been caught up in My Chem fever, the band are equally as amazed by the response – most specifically the fact that they had to add another stadium show in Milton Keynes this summer, following the instant sell-out of their UK comeback dates on June 20 and 21.

Having announced yesterday that they'll also be playing a third (and final) gig at Stadium MK on June 18, guitarist Frank Iero took to social media to enthuse that these shows are beyond the band's wildest dreams.

"Due to the absolutely overwhelming demand, we have decided to add a third and final date to our Milton Keynes Stadium run," he wrote. "Thank you to everyone that made this possible. It’s beyond our wildest dreams that we to get to play these shows for you all. See you at the shows."

Guitarist Ray Toro, meanwhile, revealed that the band all had a chuckle at one member of the MCRmy's comments that, "The year is 2030 and MCR just announced their 600th show at Milton Keynes stadium due to high demand."

That's probably pretty accurate, to be fair.

Tickets for My Chemical Romance's third and final UK dates go on sale here at 9:30am GMT on January 30.

Of course, Kerrang! spoke to many lucky fans who were in attendance at My Chem's reunion gig at The Shrine in Los Angeles last year, and their response was just as passionate and enthusiastic as we've seen online since these tour dates have been confirmed.

“If you ever heard a My Chem song on the radio and didn’t want to drop everything you were doing to sing along, you were missing a bit of innocence in your life,” said Sarah Lewitinn, MCR's first-ever pre-label manager. “Seeing them reunite reminds me of a time when it was still okay to dream bombastically and expect those dreams to come true.”

“If you’ve ever looked in the pits of hell and found yourself reaching out and you grab someone’s hand and they look you straight in your eyes and you ask yourself what took you so long?” added 24-year-old fan Will. “That’s what happened tonight.”
