My Chem and All-American Rejects wear ‘old’ make-up at When We Were Young
Members of My Chemical Romance and The All-American Rejects really embraced the nostalgia of this weekend’s When We Were Young, wearing wigs and make-up to make themselves appear ‘old’.
Following Saturday’s cancellation, the first date of When We Were Young happened without a hitch yesterday (Sunday, October 23) and there was plenty of nostalgia-embracing fun to suit the throwback line-up.
In particular, The All-American Rejects and headliners My Chemical Romance celebrated their elder – literally – statesman positions by wearing wigs and make-up to make themselves appear older.
AAR frontman Tyson Ritter donned a spectacular sparkling gold jacket along with grey hair and some very convincing make-up, tweeting after the set that, ‘Ya made an old man proud to give some hell.’
Meanwhile, My Chem sent fans absolutely wild by not only going for the ‘old’ thing too (which Frank Iero hinted at before the set, posting a photo on Insta of some guitar picks and a Werther’s Original sweet), but also wearing Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge attire. So good.
