Megadeth Announce New Beer, Saison 13
Megadeth have announced a new beer collaboration, titled Saison 13.
It's been an intense year for thrash titans Megadeth. In June, frontman Dave Mustaine revealed that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer -- only to be back in the studio not ten days later. Now, if all that weren't enough, the band have announced that they're releasing a new beer, which will be available in the U.S. this September.
The new beer is called Saison 13, and will be made along with Canadian brewing company Unibroue, the same brewers that made Megadeth's hugely successful A Tout Le Monde beer. Megadeth announced the beer via their Twitter:
Looks tasty -- and with a 6.1% ABV, it should pack a nice little buzz.
When we last spoke to Megadeth, they had about eight songs completed for their new album, and were aiming for a 2019 release.

“I thought it would be out this summer but we’ve been on tour for a while and when we came home the guys went their separate ways," Dave told Kerrang! "They have to pay their bills. Dirk [Verbeuren, drums] hasn’t been in the band very long so he doesn’t have any real income from Megadeth. Being in a smaller band as well, he had things he needed to do and I totally support him playing with other people when Megadeth aren’t on the road.
"Same with Kiko [Loureiro]," he added. "He’s a very talented musician and he would not feel fulfilled if all he ever did was make Megadeth records. I don’t believe it would be right to keep Kiko just playing in Megadeth because he plays bossa nova and calypso and classical and metal and rock… he can play anything. So if I said he could only play with us, shame on me!"
