Machine Gun Kelly Has Only Just Figured Out What Take Off Your Pants And Jacket Means

blink-182's tongue-in-cheek album title, Take Off Your Pants And Jacket, has only just registered with Machine Gun Kelly…

Despite being longtime pals and close collaborators, it would seem as though the title of blink-182's 2001 fourth album Take Off Your Pants And Jacket has only just come up in conversation between Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker.

Drummer Travis – who produced and performed on MGK's upcoming pop-punk album Tickets To My Downfall – took to Twitter overnight to express his amusement that the musician never clocked that Take Off Your Pants And Jacket is a pun on male masturbation (“Take off your pants and jack it”).

“19 yrs later and Machine Gun Kelly just figured out what Take Off Your Pants And Jacket meant,” posted Travis with a crying laughing emoji, with MGK replying: “Do I have to leave the venue when you guys play those songs now?”

This isn't the only time lately that Travis and Machine Gun Kelly have been discussing the pop-punk titans, either; back in May, the pair appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to debate how to pronounce the band's name.

“I think when we’re over there [in the UK], we’re okay with people saying, ‘blink one eight two’,” Travis told the host. “And in the States, it’s always been ‘blink one eighty-two’. So, I guess it’s just where we’re at, like, when we’re in Europe and the UK they’re saying, ‘blink one eight two’.”

After further analysis between James Corden and Travis, Machine Gun Kelly then stepped in and pondered: “Baby Yoda would probably call it one eighty-two blink, so there’s so many different ways to approach the name of this. I’m like a blink ‘hundred eighty-two’. I like to say the word ‘hundred’.”
