Listen To YUNGBLUD's Comforting New Single, Weird!

YUNGBLUD has released the perfect song for these strange and uncertain times: Weird!.

Though the track was written before lockdown, its lyrics of, 'Don’t wreck your brain / It’s gonna be alright / We’re in a weird time of life' provide a welcome source of comfort amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the 22-year-old explaining: “I wrote the song about the weirdest time in my life ever imagined. I felt like the ground beneath me was a maze that was shape shifting and I felt like I was going to fall down the cracks and, in my opinion, the world feels exactly like that right now.

“I wanted this song to make everyone feel that everything was going to be alright no matter how weird things get.”

YUNGBLUD is now working on his highly-anticipated second album – the follow-up to 2018's 21st Century Liability – while also dropping episodes of The YUNGBLUD Show, the previous two episodes of which have featured the likes of blink-182's Travis Barker, and Machine Gun Kelly. On top of that, YouTube Originals are soon going to announce a weekly series that follows YUNGBLUD "as he adjusts to a remote lifestyle while creating music and keeping up with his personal life". Plenty of new YUNGBLUD content to be looking forward to very soon, then.

Last month, the musician launched the first episode of his YUNGBLUD Show: the Shit’s Weird – Keep Calm And Carry On livestream concert.

“The world is in a very weird time at the moment,” he said. “Everyone doesn’t know what to do or where to turn. it’s like we are all trapped in a glass or perspex box whilst someone is playing a trick on us. My shows were getting cancelled left right and centre.

“I miss the energy, I miss the connection, I miss my fans and family,” he continued. “We need each other more than ever right now and having the opportunity to interact with them taken away from me fully wasn’t even an option for me!”
