Metallica are already into some "pretty serious writing" with their next album, and while we can surely expect the metal titans to deliver the usual heavy goods when that record arrives, a brilliant new mash-up has hit the internet that could well inspire a change in sonic direction.
James Hetfield and the gang's massive hit Enter Sandman has been melded to perfection with Huey Lewis And The News' Hip To Be Square by YouTube whizz Bill McClintock, adding a wonderfully soulful and poppy element to the metal classic. Bonus: if Papa Het's vocals over the top of the 1986 single don't quite do it for you, Bill also added in some Megadeth and Judas Priest guitar solos to make the whole thing even more confusingly excellent. Because why not?
