Listen To Creeper's Glorious New Song, Annabelle
Creeper have released an epic new track, which was written in response to their experience with the Westboro Baptist Church.
New Creeper alert! The Southampton goth punks have just unveiled a wonderful new single, Annabelle, taken from their forthcoming album Sex, Death & The Infinite Void.
“Annabelle was written in response to our experience with the Westboro Baptist Church whilst we were touring America,” says frontman Will Gould. “We’ve always proudly represented the so-called sinners, the weirdos, the outsiders and those who don’t feel like they fit in anywhere in this world. For many of our fans, our band is the one space they feel they can fit in. So we wrote them a satanic underworld anthem, a song to sing together in defiance. As the song says, ‘You’ve got to live a little when their world just wants you sad.’”

Will previously told Kerrang! of the collaborative process behind the follow-up to their stunning debut album Eternity, In Your Arms: “It was a real teething process. On the last day of one of our many trips to the U.S., we met a producer called Xandy Barry, who typically works on film soundtracks and pop music. For a guy who’s so successful, he was very unassuming and down to earth. We played him a lot of bands we really liked, including one called The Protomen, who are very theatrical, and he loved it. Ian [Miles, guitar] and I got back to the hotel afterwards and agreed there was a real vibe there, so we decided he was the man to do the record with. He’s an unusual choice, having never worked with a punk band before, but he’s stretched us a lot further than we ever thought we could go.”
Sex, Death & The Infinite Void is set for release on May 22 via Roadrunner Records – pre-order it here.
