Listen to Code Orange covering Nine Inch Nails’ Quake theme

Because Nine Inch Nails’ original Quake theme wasn’t quite dark enough…

Back in 1996, Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails composed the music for brilliant first-person shooter game Quake. For those who dug it enough, you could actually listen to the whole album by itself on the game CD, and it became a curio for die-hard NIN fans, a hidden thing unavailable if you didn't have the game.

Last year, the soundtrack was put out as its own thing for the first time, being pressed onto a limited-edition anniversary vinyl. Now, to mark the 25th birthday of the game, Code Orange have done their own heavy cover of its main theme.

Taking part in this weekend’s three-day QuakeCon 2021 event, the band took part in an online chat to discuss the game, before sharing their cover. The video sees them cut with game visuals, as they grind out a very Code Orange-d version of Trent’s theme. Check it out…

Code Orange are gearing up to hit the road with Slipknot as part of The Nine’s Knotfest Roadshow. Joining them on the bill will be Killswitch Engage and FEVER 333. Dates are:
