Stream the debut EP, Wild Wild Heart, from Jenna McDougall’s solo project Hevenshe, and watch the video for the wonderful title-track…
After launching new solo project Hevenshe last year, Jenna McDougall has just unveiled her debut EP under that banner.
Entitled Wild Wild Heart, the record comprises six tracks including previously released singles No One Will Ever Love You, The Blessing, These Days and Trying Not To Feel. And to coincide with the EP’s release, the opening title-track has also been unveiled with an accompanying video.
“Wild Wild Heart came through in about an hour,” explains Jenna of the song. “I didn’t have an instrument with me, I just sang the entire song into my phone watching a sunset.”
She adds of its inspiration: “I’d ended a tour of the States in Tonight Alive with a solo van trip of California. It was a healing and introspective period with a lot of night drives and nature. I was integrating a significant break-up at the time.
“Wild Wild Heart is about fate and a fork in the road. I elude to a higher power in the song because I felt powerless to the separation, it was painful but a rite of passage.”
