Lauren Sanderson unveils new ballad, nothing lasts forever

nothing lasts forever will appear on the alt. singer’s upcoming sophomore LP, Death Of A Fantasy.

Genre-blending artist Lauren Sanderson has release a new single, nothing lasts forever, ahead of her forthcoming self-released LP, Death Of A Fantasy.

Posting on social media, the American singer-songwriter gave an insight into the concept of the record: “This album came from killing my ‘fantasy’ that I wasn’t the main cause of my own suffering – that hope is there, but not if you don't reach for it.”

Moving towards a new era, the alt. pop artist’s new music has been about confronting the highs and lows of life. “I’ve always used my music as journal entries,” Lauren says. “I wasn’t knowingly making an album; I was just documenting my feelings. One day I started putting the songs together and realised they were the perfect time capsule to define this transformative era of my life.”

nothing lasts forever follows recent single Tongue Tied, which Lauren described as a “smoke-a-joint-on-the-highway, make out at a-redlight, life’s-too-short-so-do-what-you-want anthem.“ Both have come after THERAPY! and her popular collaboration with G Flip on GAY 4 ME.

Lauren released her debut album Midwest Kids Can Make It Big in 2020. Second album Death Of A Fantasy is due out on July 29.
