We might now have to wait until June for the new Lamb Of God album to arrive, but it hasn't stopped the band from releasing an absolutely killer taste from the record: New Colossal Hate.

The Virginia heavy metallers' latest effort also comes accompanied by a lyric video, hammering home frontman Randy Blythe's typically scathing and powerful commentary.

“New Colossal Hate came out of our very first writing session in Maine," explains guitarist Willie Adler. “Mark, our producer Josh Wilbur and I were at a super cool studio in South Windham called Halo. An absolutely beautiful spot run by some of the best people I've ever met.

"I'm pretty sure New Colossal Hate grew from a few different demos I had. You know, like parts of car. However, as it started to take shape, it quickly became my favourite song on the record. Please enjoy this banger of a tune. It holds a very special place in my heart."

New Colossal Hate is taken from Lamb Of God's upcoming self-titled album, which is due out on June 19 via Nuclear Blast.

Previously, Randy told Kerrang! that Lamb Of God's new record is political – but it isn't directly influenced by Donald Trump.

“I can’t write about the Trump administration because it changes so quick,” he said. “And if you look at the UK with Brexit, everything changes so fast it would be a fruitless exercise to try to pin a theme on one specific political topic. I wanted to look at the broader, wide-angle view of our global society, and figure out what has allowed this environment to occur.”

Describing how the song Gears became the starting point for the album, Randy continued: “I thought about this insane consumer culture in which the Western world lives. I thought about this crazy dependence on technology, this reverence for material possessions, this false sense of self and wellness that is put forth by the media and social media. Where did all this start?”
