Jason Hook Comments On His Alleged Departure From Five Finger Death Punch
Well, as much as the former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist’s “gag order” will allow him to…
Puzzled by that question mark over Jason Hook’s place in Five Finger Death Punch after he had to sit out touring? Wonder no more. Well, keep wondering about the details, but the guitarist has reportedly confirmed that he’s no longer in the band.
In a now-deleted video on Instagram, done while on honeymoon, Jason apparently revealed that, yeah, he’s not in the band anymore, but no, legal stuff means he can’t say much about it.

“I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the fans of Five Finger Death Punch for all of messages that you’ve been sending me about you know what. I’ve kinda been issued a gag order, so I’m not saying anything. But I’m very excited about the things I’m working on and I’m looking forward to sharing them with everybody. And when the time is right there will be a mutually agreed on press release between me and my guys and that’s it.”
Looking to the future, Jason revealed that he’s got “eight projects on the go, and I’m excited about every one of them”.
“I’ve got tons of new songs that I’m gonna release and I want people to hear them,” he explains. “I don’t expect to make money, I don’t expect to climb the top of charts. I didn’t care about any of that. The music business is sort of in the toilet, so it’s not really about that anymore. It’s just about getting off on it and getting fired up and creating something that’s exciting for me and hopefully translates to be exciting for you.”
Five Finger Death Punch, meanwhile, have just released a second Best Of, A Decade Of Destruction, Vol. 2, featuring a brand new song, Broken World, as well as remixes of their cover of Bad Company’s, uh, Bad Company, courtesy of producer Steve Aoki, and Wash It All Away by Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn.
