Jared Leto Posts Video Of The Moment He "Nearly Died" Rock Climbing
"The rope was being cut by the rock while I dangled some 600ft in the air…" Jared explains. Gulp.
Jared Leto may have been busy transforming himself into a super-strong vampire in upcoming movie Morbius lately, but during a recent rock climbing session, the Thirty Seconds To Mars frontman had a terrifying experience in which he "nearly died".
While scaling the Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas with climbing legend and star of the brilliant Free Solo film Alex Honnold, Jared revealed that the rope with which he was held was simultaneously being sliced by a rock above him, and he "took a pretty good fall" as a result. Not only did Jared post some pictures after the fall, he also shared a video where he is understandably using the words "fuck" and "shit" over and over again…

"Not to sound dramatic, but this is the day I nearly died," he later tweeted. "Took a pretty good fall climbing with Alex Honnold at Red Rock. Looked up and within seconds the rope was being cut by the rock while I dangled some 600ft in the air. I remember looking down at the ground below.
"It was a strange moment – less fear, more matter of fact, and slightly melancholy. The adrenaline came after, when I got back on the wall. But we made it through and lived to see another day Smiling face with open mouth and cold sweat. Overall it was actually quite fun. we continued climbing into the night…"

In much less scary news, Thirty Seconds To Mars will be hosting their second-ever Mars Island this summer.
The band will be hitting the Croatian island of Obonjan from 21-24 August, bringing an “all-inclusive festival experience with yoga amongst the trees, swimming, relaxation and intimate performances by Leto and his band Thirty Seconds To Mars”.
Sounds much more pleasant than the rock climbing, tbf.
