Jared Leto "Had No Idea" About The Coronavirus After Returning From Desert Retreat
Upon returning from an isolated desert retreat, Jared Leto found himself walking into "a very different world."
For most people, the coronavirus and the global changes being enacted to combat it are all everyone is thinking about, talking about, and dealing with. But most of us haven't been on an isolated stay in the desert without cell phones and Internet for 12 days. Such was the case with Suicide Squad actor and Thirty Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto, who returned from a two-week desert retreat to discover the startling changes overtaking the world.
In a series of tweets, Jared wrote, "Wow. 12 days ago I began a silent meditation in the desert. We were totally isolated. No phone, no communication etc. We had no idea what was happening outside the facility.
"Walked out yesterday into a very different world," he continued. "One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing – to say the least. I’m getting messages from friends and family all around the globe and catching up on what’s going on.

For the rest of the world, COVID-19 is an ongoing pandemic that's throwing citizens around the world new curveballs every day. Pretty much every major tour, event, or festival has been canceled, with New York City going so far as to close all its concert venues, nightclubs, and movie theaters. However, it's important to remember that we're all in this together, and that this changing cultural landscape offers musicians new opportunities for reaching their fans, while fans can still help support their favorite artists even without live shows.
Kerrang! send our hearts out to everyone out there dealing with the coronavirus, and hope you and your loved ones are safe.
