“It looks so f*cking real”: Travis Barker has his own wax figure at Madame Tussauds now
While out in Vegas for pop-punk mega-fest When We Were Young, blink-182 drummer Travis Barker also stopped by Madame Tussauds to hang out with… himself.
Travis Barker has unveiled his first-ever wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
Fresh from the release of incredible new album ONE MORE TIME…, the blink-182 drumming legend stopped by the Las Vegas branch of the celebrity waxwork museum, to take a look at, well, himself, while the band were out that way for pop-punk mega-fest When We Were Young.
“I’m honoured,” Travis said. “I’m flattered, I’m shocked. It looks so fucking real.”
Apparently this particular model is the “most tatted figure ever created by Madame Tussauds”, as real-life Travis has over 100 tattoos. He worked with sculptors, colourists, hairdressers and stylists to make the model as realistic as possible, and it was a nine-week process – his head taking two weeks, and his body taking seven weeks to create.
“So many of our customers grew up rocking out to blink-182, so we’re so excited to bring Travis Barker’s figure to Las Vegas for everyone to enjoy,” says Marketing Manager Linsey Stiglic. “And the attention to detail… have you seen these tattoos? We’re incredibly thankful to work with talented studio artists that consistently deliver figures of legends, like Barker, with such extraordinary precision.”
