Here’s when the first Reading & Leeds 2024 line-up announcement is coming
There’s an exclusive Reading & Leeds announcement coming – find out who’s going to be playing next year’s festivals later today!
Updated story: The first 10 names have been announced – find out who they are right here!
Original story: It’s (almost) time… the Reading & Leeds 2024 line-up is on the way.
The first announcement for next year’s summer weekender – which takes place from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25 – will be coming later today (November 23), as the festival’s social media pages have teased that, “We’ve got something for you… tune into BBC Radio 1 from 6pm tonight for the exclusive!”
Of course, while we don’t know the line-up just yet, there’s a couple of guesses to be made about who might and might not be announced.
In August this year, Festival Republic’s Melvin Benn admitted that it was “not an agenda item at the moment” to bring Rage Against The Machine back, after the band had to cancel in 2022. “Rage are a U.S.-based act and would very rarely do one-off shows, so it would need to fit in to a lot more scheduling,” he said. So that seems unlikely…
On the other hand, following their incredible reunion tour, blink-182 will be in the country around the time of Reading & Leeds – they’re playing Belfast’s SSE Arena on August 26, Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham on August 27, and the Glasgow OVO Hydro on August 29 and 30. So does that mean they might be arriving a few days early and coming to headline?
Guess we’ll find out at 6pm!
