Here’s the weather forecast for Download Festival 2024
Summer in England has barely even begun this year… and it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any hot weather at Castle Donington over the weekend, either.
The run-up to Download Festival starts here, and with just a couple of days to go now until we get to watch Queens Of The Stone Age, Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold headlining Donington Park, it’s officially time to start thinking about what to pack (besides black band T-shirts).
Unfortunately, following a couple of super-hot Downloads, BBC’s weather predictions for Castle Donington currently aren’t looking quite so pretty for 2024. It’s not terrible – just not great. Of course, things may change, but given how rubbish England’s summer has been so far, we’re not holding our breath for a massive improvement.
Here’s your day-by-day look at the early weather forecast for Download Festival 2024, which we’ll be reviewing throughout the week.
Updated Download weather forecast, as of Wednesday, June 12:
Friday
Uh oh. Now BBC are predicting ‘thundery showers and a moderate breeze’ for the first full day of music at Download, with the worst of it looking like it’ll happen mid-afternoon, and then again early evening. The high is still 17 degrees, and the low is 10.
Saturday
Saturday hasn’t changed much – ‘light rain showers and a moderate breeze’ are still forecasted. The high has now dropped to 15 degrees, though, but from 9pm we might be getting some ‘sunny intervals’. Finally!
Sunday
Well, the good news is that by the end of Sunday – and by end, we mean, like, 9pm – it’s going to be ‘sunny with a gentle breeze’. Before that, however, we’ve got another day of ‘light rain showers and a moderate breeze’. But if Avenged are planning on bringing some pyro, then we’ll all be nice and dry by the time Download finishes for another year!
