Halsey opens up about 2022 lupus diagnosis: “You’ve all been so kind so I want to share a bit more”

Following the release of The End, Halsey wants to “share a bit more” about being diagnosed with “Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder” a couple of years ago.

After detailing their incredibly personal health struggles over the past couple of years in the lyrics to stunning recent single The End, Halsey has just opened up about exactly what she’s been going through.

The New Jersey pop and alt. superstar tells fans that, ahead of the track seeing the light of day, “I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share.” But since The End has received such an overwhelming reaction, Halsey writes that, “You’ve all been so kind so I want to share a bit more.”

“In 2022,” Halsey begins, “I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life. After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors.”

Fast-forward to the present day, and they continue that, “After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to. I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all singing and screaming my heart out.”

We can’t wait, either. Halsey also made donations to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance to coincide with the release of The End.
