Gwen Stefani is “open to anything” in terms of No Doubt’s future

Ahead of their Coachella comeback this weekend, Gwen Stefani has said there’s no ‘concrete plans’ for No Doubt – but she hasn’t shut down doing more stuff again with the band…

Gwen Stefani has revealed in a new interview that, while there aren’t any No Doubt plans beyond this month’s reunion shows at Coachella, she isn’t against doing more stuff with the band in the future.

The legendary ska punks – completed by Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young – will return to the stage in their home state of California this weekend for their first proper gigs since 2015, and speaking with Nylon, Gwen enthuses that these dates are “going to be a really nice bow to tie on the relationship”.

“I already know what it’s going to feel like because we’re just so in sync when we’re onstage,” she says of getting back together with her bandmates. “It’s going to feel like riding a bike again. We’re going to be laughing, and we’re going to look at each other and go, ‘Oh my gosh – there you are.’”

The pop icon adds that she’s “open to anything” after Coachella – but with the caveat that, “…I don’t have a crystal ball. Most things have surprised me in life. One of the things I’ve learned is to be present in the moment and try to absorb what’s happening around me instead of looking ahead.”

Interestingly, Gwen also reflects on where she’s at as a solo artist, pondering, “I don’t land in pop anymore. I don’t know where I land. And who cares? If anything’s going to happen, we’re in the Wild West right now in music, right? Crazy shit happens.”

Coachella takes place from April 12 – 14 and April 19 – 21.
