Green Day played a surprise set at a subway station in New York last night

Green Day are up to even more mischief in the run-up to new album Saviors this Friday.
After turning up at a ridiculously tiny pub in London late last year for a last-minute set, the rock legends decided to perform at another cramped spot – specifically the platform of the 47th–50th Streets – Rockefeller Center station subway – last night (January 16) for a very special acoustic show.
It was seemingly all done for an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as host Jimmy also joined the band to perform tambourine with them. According to setlist.fm the evening kicked off with a Bad Company cover (Feel Like Makin’ Love), with Green Day and Jimmy all wearing disguises at first. Then, with their identities revealed, they played Basket Case, Look Ma, No Brains!, a cover of KISS’ Rock And Roll All Nite, Dilemma and American Idiot.
Check out fan-shot footage of the whole thing below, and watch this space for hopefully some official Tonight Show videos, too!
