Green Day confirm they’ll play Dookie and American Idiot in full on tour

Get ready to hear not one but two iconic albums on The Saviors Tour, because Green Day have just confirmed they’ll be playing both Dookie and American Idiot in their entirety this year!

Green Day had previously announced that they’d be celebrating Dookie and American Idiot in some capacity on the road this year as part of their massive Saviors Tour, but now they’ve officially confirmed what we can definitely expect from the setlist.

The rock legends have just announced that they’ll be playing both 1994’s Dookie and 2004’s American Idiot in their entirety, as well as “a bunch of your other favourites new and old”. Wow… that’s gonna be one hell of a setlist.

Recently speaking to Kerrang! about the tour, bassist Mike Dirnt enthused: “We’re excited. I’m excited about the fact that people are excited about Dookie and American Idiot’s anniversaries. I mean, the fact that we’re launching a new record [Saviors] at the same time as those albums having their anniversaries is a strange anomaly, but also really awesome. And it gives us an opportunity to put together one hell of a show. We can deviate from it – we can do whatever we want to do – but, man, there’s a lot of friggin’ fun songs to play!”

See how they made the announcement on The Howard Stern Show earlier today (January 17):
