Ghostemane Announces New Album With Video of An Orgy Inside a Morgue

Ghostemane has announced his 2020 album ANTI-ICON with an NSFW video on YouTube.

Rap-metal artist Ghostemane has taken an NSFW approach to announcing the follow-up for his 2018 album N/O/I/S/E by uploading a controversial new music video that features a corpsepainted orgy in a morgue. In doing so, Ghoste revealed that his new album, ANTI-ICON, will come out this year, but hasn't given a specific release date yet.

Originally posted to Instagram, the video was removed by the platform because it violated Community Guidelines involving nudity and sexual activity. But an age-restricted version is still up on YouTube (you’ll have to sign in to your YouTube or Google account to verify your age), titled ANTI-ICON ● XX/XX/2020, indicating a release sometime this year.

Ghostemane, whose real name is Eric Whitney, explained his thinking behind his music and style in an essay published to Revolver last year.

“N/O/I/S/E is rap, metal, industrial, techno, ambient and acoustic,” he said. “It's a speedball of every sound and idea I've ever had, an occult dystopian nightmare pried from deep inside my chest, sent to you covered in blood. I didn't hold back anything. I think different genres are like paints, different hues and colors for expressing different ideas and emotions. So if I feel something, I follow that. I find the sound that fits that feeling and I push it out of me, even if it's imperfect, even if it sounds "bad," even if you can't stand it. If it rings with my truth — if it sounds like how I feel — then it goes on the fucking record. End of story.”

Ghostemane is currently out on the Hiadica Euro Tour across Europe with Parv0, which kicked off yesterday. Here’s a list of the remaining tour dates:
