Full Of Hell And Lingua Ignota Announced As Roadburn 2020 Artists In Residence

Full Of Hell and Lingua Ignota to perform a series of special sets at Roadburn 2020

For the first time in its history, Roadburn will have two Artists In Residence across the festival next year. Following on from Thou's four performances this year, the 2020 instalment of Roadburn will see both Full Of Hell and Lingua Ignota playing a series of very special sets.

Full Of Hell will be performing their albums Weeping Choir and Trumpeting Ecstasy in full, plus a set comprised of early material from their first 7" releases, debut album Roots Of Earth Are Consuming My Home and potentially some covers.

Speaking of which, Lingua Ignota will be performing a special covers set – which will no doubt be a highlight of the festival. She will also be performing an All Bitches Die set and a reimagining of new album Caligula.

Full Of Hell and Lingua Ignota will also be collaborating together for one set, guaranteed to blow minds.

Roadburn have also announced a string of other artists for the 2020 line-up, including HIDE – chosen by festival curator Emma Ruth Rundle.

“I’m very happy to announce HIDE as the first band in my curation," says Emma. "No one else is touching on all the subjects that really twist the blade in my being the way they can. Their work is brutal, visceral, painful and poignant in all ways. From their videos, albums, lyrics, uniquely sourced samples and undeniably intense live performance- HIDE not only transcend – they absolutely destroy.”

Co-curator James Kent (aka Perturbator) has announced a number of his picks for this year, including Boy Harsher, Health and She Past Away.

“Boy Harsher brings a kind of visceral darkness through their minimal electronic beats that is extremely fascinating," says James. "The whispering-like vocals mixed with detuned-synths and old drum machines always felt to me like an invitation to a forbidden yet alluring world.”

He adds: “Health are amongst my favourite acts out there at the moment. Their unique sound blending heavy electronics, pop vocals and aggressive noise will make for a perfect addition to the festival.”

Elsewhere, Roadburn have added Dool, Bada (a project featuring Anna Von Hausswolff) and Acid Rooster to the bill.

The festival takes place in Tilburg, Netherlands, on April 16-19 2020. Tickets go on sale September 24.
