Frank Carter On Recent Single Anxiety: "It's Pure Therapy For Me…"
In the studio with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Alan Moulder and Cam Blackwood discussing the band's single Anxiety.
Following an incredible summer of touring – including supporting the mighty Foo Fighters, as well as making a stunning impact on the main stages of Reading & Leeds last month – Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes have released a new video on the making of Anxiety, and it's premiering exclusively with Kerrang!.
Anxiety is, of course, taken from Frank and co.'s brilliant latest album End Of Suffering, which is out now via International Death Cult. Watch Frank and guitarist Dean Richardson discuss not only the lyrical impact of the track, but also the making of it and why it sounds the way it does, alongside Alan Moulder and Cam Blackwood, who both worked on End Of Suffering.

At the time of the single's release, Frank had partnered with CALM for their #abetterplaceforyouandme initiative.
“Whatever life is throwing at you right now, it will pass,” Frank says. “Choose to let it hit you, or duck and watch it fly past much faster and off into your history, of which there have been many obstacles thrown your way and you have overcome them all.”

When Kerrang! caught up with Frank when End Of Suffering was first announced, the musician said of his initial aims going in to the making of the record: “The intention whenever we write is to make a song that’s classic, and that means a lot to us. Music is our therapy, and Dean [Richardson, guitar] and I have got an amazing relationship where we trust each other implicitly in what we’re doing. For us, I guess we were trying to find ourselves a little bit. We’ve both been through quite a few changes in our lives, and Rattlesnakes has been one of the most positive ones, and the main thing we wanted to do was do justice to ourselves, you know? We wanted to find a way to really give back. Everybody has given us this amazing life: fans have been buying our records, coming to our shows, streaming our music. They’ve enabled us to have this life that we’ve always wanted, and so we just wanted to do a good service to them by putting out the best music we could. And it just happened that when we were writing, it was really relaxing and natural, and the collection of songs that you’ll hear is what came out. We’re really proud of it.”
Next February, Frank will be hitting the road for three colossal shows.
"Five years," says the frontman. "Five years is how long The Rattlesnakes have been a band. Five years of travelling the world, growing our shows from the basement of a tattoo shop, to Brixton Academy all the way up to the main stage at Reading & Leeds!
"We are going back on tour, to celebrate all the music we have made over the past five years, playing a setlist that fully explores the diversity and dynamic of Rattlesnakes as a band.
"We are keeping it short and sweet, three shows: Glasgow, Manchester and London. The biggest headline shows we have ever played."
