"In this strange new world of COVID-19 many artists, venues and promoters have immersed themselves in producing virtual content to keep music alive and feed the souls of fans around the world," reads Danny Wimmer Presents' statement. "While we all miss the energy of live music, the content being produced in this new era of social distancing is truly bringing us all together in ways we had never imagined.
"As one of the largest independent festival promoters in the United States, Danny Wimmer Presents is committed to providing exceptional experiences, on and off the stage. In lieu of the DWP festivals, we all look forward to year-after-year, we here at DWP are pleased to announce a new digital series, Offstage with DWP, that provides unique and original content deeply rooted in the rock'n'roll lifestyle we all love and crave."
In light of not being able to have Metallica's planned dual-headlining sets across their festivals in 2020, the metal titans are kicking off Offstage With DWP this Friday with a set at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio from 2017. Elsewhere, Foo Fighters are set to air select songs from their headline set from Sonic Temple last year, while there will be new interviews with members of Papa Roach, Shinedown, Lamb Of God and The Pretty Reckless, and acoustic sets from Rise Against and Halestorm.
"This is just the beginning of Offstage with DWP," the statement concludes. "While we can’t wait to see you all, and celebrate our love of the live experience with everyone, we know Offstage With DWP will fill the void until we meet again! Stay safe, well and rock on."
