Watch Foo Fighters invite fan onstage to play Monkey Wrench
Dave Grohl goes to Kansas to make a Foo Fighters fan’s dream come true…
When a person is tired of stories about Dave Grohl being a top lad, they are tired of life. The latest in his long canon of doing very nice things comes from a show in Bonner Springs, Kansas last week, where the Foo Fighters frontman invited a fan out of the crowd to take over guitar duties for Monkey Wrench.
“You’re not nervous are you?” he asked the fan, handing over his guitar to the fan. No doubt, but she is pretty awesome at doing Dave’s job for him. Check it out.
This was the same gig where, hours before doors, the band had a run-in with controversial Christian group The Westboro Baptist Church, who were picketing outside the venue.
As their alter-egos the Dee Gees, the band emerged on a flatbed truck to serenade the protesters with their cover of The Bee Gees’ You Should Be Dancing,
“Alright now, ladies and gentlemen, I got something to say. Because you know what, I love you! I do!” announced Dave. “The way I look at it, is that I love everybody. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do? Can’t you just love everybody? ’Cause I think it’s about love! That’s what I think, we’re all about love. And you shouldn’t be hating, you know what you should be doing? You should be dancing!”
