Emma Ruth Rundle announces new Orpheus Looking Back EP
Listen to Emma Ruth Rundle’s beautiful new track Pump Organ Song, taken from her upcoming EP of unreleased songs from the Engine Of Hell sessions.
Following last year's gorgeously haunting Engine Of Hell album, Emma Ruth Rundle has announced that three more songs from those sessions are on the way in the form of a new EP, Orpheus Looking Back.
Due out on March 25 via Sargent House, Orpheus Looking Back consists of the tracks Gilded Cage, Pump Organ Song and St. Non, with the Pump Organ Song out now (listen below).
“In the year that has come since recording the song, I feel more and more connected to this love song,” says Emma. “It is still speaking to me about the process of parting ways and how romantic arrangements change and relationships close.”
Speaking to Kerrang! last year about her personal journey in creating Engine Of Hell, Emma reflected that, “I really believe that music and art sometimes takes actual life sacrifices. I think there's something powerful to that. And whether the album helped me make these big transformations, or those things were sacrifices that went into the making of this record, I don't think that it would ever be possible to replicate that. I mean, I've even cut off all my hair. I don't really have anything left to take away. I put it all into this one.
“I feel like I've kind of been woken up from somewhere asleep, and now I'm allowed to live my life in whatever way I choose. That’s really weird, and magical, and freeing.”
