Deftones' Chino Moreno Is Hosting A Livestream Tonight
Deftones frontman Chino Moreno will be taking to Twitch on Friday night for a live DJ set.
As Deftones finish up their highly-anticipated, Terry Date-produced ninth album, frontman Chino Moreno will be keeping fans occupied later today with the announcement of a special Twitch livestream.
The vocalist is set to host a livestream via Deftones' official Twitch channel on April 24 from 7pm PDT / 10pm EDT (that's 3am BST on Saturday morning… which is probably fine if your sleep pattern is screwed thanks to coronavirus lockdown), performing a DJ set for viewers.

Of course, Chino isn't the first member of the band to do this sort of thing; Frank Delgado and Sergio Vega have also hosted DJ sets on Twitch, with Frank's setlist also made into a handy playlist on Spotify.
Given his many side-projects, and his attitude to genre as a whole, it's safe to assume that Chino's DJ set will be a varied and unpredictable one.
Speaking to Kerrang! and CHVRCHES' Lauren Mayberry last year, the Deftones frontman explained how he'd never felt like Deftones fit into the metal scene – or any musical genre in particular, really.
“We never fit into the metal world,” he pondered. “We could play shows with them, but we were never… whatever. I always thought it was kinda cool that we could dip and go into anything and make it work. That’s added to our longevity as a band too, because we were never so one thing.”
Late last year, Chino had admitted that he was “hoping” that Deftones' new record would be out “earlier on” in 2020, but there was no definite answer at that point.
“Our biggest thing is making sure that it’s good,” he said. “We’ll be performing it, once it’s out, for the next two or three years, so we want to be sure it’s the best it can be and want to make everyone happy – including ourselves.”
