Corey Taylor gives update on Slipknot album: "There’s some f*cking savage heavy shit"

Corey Taylor says he's almost finished recording all his vocals for the new Slipknot album, promising "some darker, heavier sh*t" on the record.

Though the band seemingly haven't quite met their planned deadline of finishing a new album "by the end of July", Slipknot are well on the way to getting the follow-up to 2019's We Are Not Your Kind done.

In fact, in a new interview as part of this year's GalaxyCon (watch it below), frontman Corey Taylor has shared that he's been able to get his vocals done between touring and other bits this year, and only has three songs now left to record!

"I was actually supposed to finish my vocals this week," the singer says. "I got screwed, man, [by recently getting COVID-19]. I actually only have really three songs left to do. I’ve done all the other tracks because I’ve been doing ’em in between tours, just fucking hitting it.”

Excitedly hinting at what's to come, Corey continues: "I actually like this [new album] better than the last one. I loved the last one. It’s really good. There’s some darker, heavier shit on it. There’s some tunes that are actually really outside the realm of what we’ve done before.

"But [it's all cohesive] – it all works together. And there’s some fucking savage heavy shit, which I’m really stoked on. So it’s gonna be rad.”

CANNOT. WAIT.
