Ouch! Slipknot's Clown tore his bicep onstage at Knotfest
And he's posted a video of himself tearing the tendon onstage at Knotfest last week…
It is a very dangerous business being Shawn Crahan. We once did an annotation of the red-nosed Slipknot percussionist’s body, where he told us all about the myriad injuries, aches and pains he’s given himself on the job, and he already looked like he’d been in every war. And this was like 20 years ago, so he’s done an awful lot more since then.
Example: at Knotfest last Friday, he managed to tear a tendon in his bicep. Handily, in a message to fans explaining his absence from last night’s headlining set at Florida’s Welcome To Rockville festival, he included a video where, he reckons, like Ralph Wiggum’s broken heart you can actually pinpoint the second his tendon rips in half…
"Ladies and gentlemen, if you look close enough you can pinpoint the exact frame where clown completely tore the bicep tendon from the radial tuberosity with proximal retraction, proximal to the coronoid fossa of the humerus.
"With that being said, you may have realized I was not on stage in Florida with my brothers and my culture tonight. For this fact I am saddened.
"I had surgery today in Los Angeles, everything went great and I am recovering peacefully.
"I can't express how happy and blessed I am to have been able to come back to touring after all that we as a community have been through the last couple years. And I promise we will see you all very soon. Thank you."
