BVDLVD drops raging new single and video, Prison

Underground genre-blending artist BVDLVD (pronounced ‘bad lad’) has shared a brand-new single, Prison.

Having recently signed to Earache Records, the musician – real name Josh Pearman – unpacks a very personal experience in the raging track, explaining that he wrote it when he was “completely broke”.

“Long story short, fuck the tax man!” says Josh. “I had about 80 quid to my name and was stressed about how I was going to pay my bills the next month, borrowing money from my girlfriend, and eating as cheaply as I could. I don’t usually perform well under stress and I remember getting to the point where I just hated the process of making the song. Somehow, I manifested that hatred back into the song and said, ‘Fuck it, let’s just make the song about the corrupt system and how I might be completely screwed if I can’t pay my rent.’”

He continues: “The song went through so many versions. I am really happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to perform this one live. It broke my heart reading through some comments from fans saying they discovered me through my song Full Metal, which I made over three years ago, and were disappointed that I never truly came back with another metal track. I really hope those fans are happy with Prison.”
