Bring Me The Horizon release new single DiE4u
Ahead of their UK tour next week, Bring Me This Horizon have unveiled brand new banger, DiE4u.
After weeks of teasing, Bring Me The Horizon have released a new song, DiE4u. Taking a less heavy tack than the furious metal that made up last year’s Post Human: Survival Horror EP, this first glimpse at what’s coming on the second of Horizon’s proposed four-EP run is a far more melodic, chorus-happy beast.
Like that EP, the track was recorded completely remotely, with members of the band scattered across the UK, America and, in the case of Oli Sykes, working on his parts in Brazil where he’s spent much of the past year. The video, meanwhile, saw the band coming together to film in Ukraine.
Oli explains that the track deals with the darkness within, and how it can change who a person is.
“DiE4u is a song about toxic obsessions, vices and things you can’t kick,” he says. “I think a lot of people went through very similar struggles while in lockdown, coming face to face with yourself and seeing who you really are and what’s important.
“The song is a triumphant and emotional one for me because it was a time of realisation to kick the things that were no good, and to take the choice in bettering myself,” he continues. “It also connects to a deeper theme about us as a society, and how we need to look at the way we treat ourselves, each other as well as the world."
