Billie Eilish calls out Jimmy Kimmel for viral Van Halen question: "Everybody thought I was actually serious"
On her latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, Billie Eilish reminded the host of her viral 2019 interview in which he made her "look a little stupid" for not knowing who Van Halen were.
Almost two years on from a viral appearance on Jimmy Kimmel in which then-17-year-old Billie Eilish was mocked online for not knowing who Van Halen were, the pop megastar has reflected on that moment in a new interview on the show.
Calling out the host mid-interview, Billie asks, "Wait, really quick – do you remember last time I was here and you made me look a little stupid?
"I thought it was funny because I was playing along, and everybody thought I was actually serious and didn't know anything."
It's all in good humour, though, as Billie admits that the whole thing "was funny and I didn't really care".

At the time of the original interview, Wolfgang Van Halen (son of Eddie) quickly jumped to defend the young star from all the outrage, tweeting: "If you haven’t heard of Billie Eilish, go check her out. She’s cool. If you haven’t heard of Van Halen, go check them out. They’re cool too.
"Music is supposed to bring us together, not divide us. Listen to what you want and don’t shame others for not knowing what you like."
