Axl Rose Defends Anti-Trump Tweets: They Are Coming From A Sense Of "Outrage, Obligation And Responsibility"
Guns N' Roses frontman has posted a detailed explanation regarding his outspoken political tweets.
It's becoming fairly common now that, every so often, we'll report on Axl Rose criticising Donald Trump (a recent example: in early June, he called the president a "truly bad, repulsive excuse for a person"). And now, the Guns N' Roses frontman is doubling down on these beliefs and defending his outspoken political online posts.
In an extended message to his 1.2million followers on July 4, the vocalist wrote about how his “disdain” for the current U.S. administration is “no secret”, elaborating on a general lack of interest on social media but reasoning that he uses Twitter because his “political or social issue posts [aren't] about me. They're about the issues.”

“In general my posts in regard to current events, politics or social issues [are] usually coming from a sense of outrage, obligation n’ responsibility to say something at times when I feel not to is being complicit (as opposed to a desire for attention or self promotion),” he continued.
“I’m nobody, just a citizen that like everyone else has my own opinions n’ believes in my heart that ultimately I want what’s best for not just [our] country but for humanity, wildlife n’ [our] environment n’ other’s as opposed to right, left or any other wing fascism [are] at least in this country free to disagree.”
The day before the post, Axl had called Surgeon General Jerome Adams a “coward” for refusing to give a yes or no answer in response to whether people should be attending large gatherings for Independence Day.
“Resign,” he said. “U don’t deserve the job or title. America deserves better.”
After Jerome then encouraged the frontman to share his video about using masks, Axl wrote back: “Awesome! n’ thanks! U wanna start by telling peeps to avoid large gatherings? Or u want me to? Shame we didn’t get that out there 4 this wkend like on TV.”
