Avril Lavigne Releases Charity Single, We Are Warriors
Listen to We Are Warriors, a re-recorded and renamed version of Avril Lavigne's 2019 song Warriors.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic and these strange and uncertain times that we're all living in, Avril Lavigne has re-recorded and renamed her 2019 song Warriors for charity.
The Canadian star has updated the Head Above Water track with a re-recording and the new title We Are Warriors, explaining that, “I felt the need to do something to honour all of the frontline workers who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. From the doctors, nurses, police, fire fighters, grocery workers, delivery services, all essential workers and the brave volunteers.
“I am humbled with gratitude and want to dedicate my new song We Are Warriors to everyone putting their lives at risk to keep us safe,” Avril continues. “You guys are the ones that are holding the world up right now and we’re all counting on you and relying on you. You are Warriors! We all need each other more than ever right now. Now is the time to fight and to stick together. Be kind, be safe, be a Warrior and support our mission at CharityStars.com/Warrior.”
All net profits from We Are Warriors will to go Project Hope’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

Avril was due to hit the UK and Europe last month for her Head Above Water tour, though had to postpone it due to coronavirus.
"As you all are aware, governments across Europe have continued to impose restrictions banning large public gatherings because of the continued spread of the coronavirus," she said. "Now the United States of America has implemented its own travel ban. With these restrictions in place it means that I am no longer able to bring the Head Above Water Tour to Europe and the United Kingdom. And it sucks!
"I have been looking forward to this tour for so long. For the opportunity to reconnect with my amazing, supportive fans. My main concern continues to be your health and safety and I want to come back and rock out with you at another time when everyone can enjoy the shows without worry. Sending you all so much love."
