Avril Lavigne announces new single following studio sessions with Machine Gun Kelly
Avril Lavigne recently teamed up with Machine Gun Kelly, MOD SUN and producer John Feldmann.
The different eras of pop-punk are seemingly set to collide later this week as Avril Lavigne and MOD SUN have announced a brand-new single, Flames.
The track is due out on January 8, with the pair revealing several days ago that they had hit the studio with Machine Gun Kelly and mega-producer John Feldmann (MOD SUN also worked with MGK on last year's ace Tickets To My Downfall).
"So are we ready for new music in the new year or what? Lemme know…" teased Avril on Instagram, sharing studio photos of her and Machine Gun Kelly both in the vocal booth together, as well as MGK playing guitar. Does this mean he features on Flames too, or is that for something else to come later down the line?! Hmm…

Of course, it's going to be a busy start to 2021 for Machine Gun Kelly anyway. The musician's Tickets To My Downfall musical, Downfalls High, is due out this month, while he also revealed back in November 2020 that he hopes to release another record this year, too.
On his to-do list, he said, was: “Definitely directing a movie, releasing another album, performing Tickets To My Downfall live – that’s necessary. And being a good human, those are all my 2021 top of the list.”
