Alkaline Trio Release New EP
Surprise! Alkaline Trio have released a new three-track EP
Alkaline Trio have released a surprise new three-track EP, simply titled E.P.
The new record is available to stream now (scroll down for Spotify) and features the tracks Minds Like Minefields, Radio Violence and Smokestack.
“With the tour postponed and the current state of the world, we feel and hope that some new music will help people transcend the uncertainty and possible fear they might be feeling, if even for a few minutes,” says frontman Matt Skiba.

“Music has always had a way of helping us all cope with unpleasant times. We can only hope that ours can do the same for our fans on some level. We hope you enjoy the songs.”
The EP will also be released physically on a limited-edition two-song 7”. There will be 1000 blue variants available in the US and 500 red vinyl in Europe. The two songs included will be Minds Like Minefields, Radio Violence.
"[Radio Violence is] a song about communication breakdowns," says bassist Dan Andriano. "It’s about the lies we tell ourselves and others and it’s about shutting out those closest to us when we need them most.”
This is the first new music we've heard from Alkaline Trio since 2018's Is This Thing Cursed? studio album. Since then, Matt has been busy in his 'other job' with blink-182, releasing album Nine last year.
