Just under a month ago Chino Moreno said he needed to finish up vocals for Deftones’ next record – and sure enough, he’s been in the studio with Nick Raskulinecz!
This TikTok user has gone viral for lip syncing to a very metal cover of the theme tune to The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air…
Whether it's covers of Linkin Park, Green Day and more in style of Cartman or people performing Smells Like Teen Spirit on woks, TikTok has quickly become the home of quirky and hilarious videos featuring rock, punk and metal. And lip syncer Matt Reed is no exception, going viral for a hilarious clip featuring a 2017 metal cover of the theme song for The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.
The iconic ’90s hip-hop classic – which was originally performed by Will Smith and DJ Jeff Townes / Jazzy Jeff – was reworked into a much heavier version a couple of years back by Leo Moracchioli of Frog Leap Studios (hear it in full below), but has since regained popularity in 2021 thanks to Matt's lip sync version – which already has over one million views.

As well as being a nice ol' sing-along, the TikToker has a fun storyline to accompany the cover: he plays a 'metal guy' as well as an unconvinced music producer, who tells, well, himself that "metal and rap just don't mix" when a metal cover of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air is suggested. Pffffft, you sure proved you wrong, Matt…
Here's Leo Moracchioli's version in full:
And the original, because why not?
