The bassist replaces Jeordie White, who was ejected from the band last month.
Marilyn Manson has got Juan Alderete of The Mars Volta on board to replace the recently ejected Jeordie White/Twiggy Ramirez, who was asked to leave the band after various allegations of abuse behaviour were made against him by his former girlfriend, Jessicka Addams of the riot grrrl band Jack Off Jill.
Alderete first appeared with Manson on November 5 at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in Devore, California, but it sounds like he's gone full time.
Alderete got his start back in the '80s as a member of proto-shred-metal band Racer X, who sounded like this:

Those leggings are quite something aren't they? He went on to join Mars Volta in 2003, but by then was sporting some slightly more sombre legwear:
