Pearl Jam To Headline American Express Presents BST Hyde Park Next Summer

With 2020 marking three decades of Pearl Jam, the band have just announced that they will be headlining American Express presents BST Hyde Park in London next summer to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

The Seattle legends – who formed all the way in 1990 – will be taking on the massive summer gig on July 10, 2020 in a UK exclusive performance, with Pixies and White Reaper also joining them. More bands will be announced as BST Hyde Park edges closer, with the event hosting "a full supporting line-up across multiple stages".

Pearl Jam's return will follow their two incredible headline gigs at The O2 in London in June and July 2018. It's not yet known if the rock legends will also be bringing along new material with them next summer, with various members of the band updating fans and the press that they have been writing for the follow-up to 2013’s Lightning Bolt.

“Hopefully we’re going to get that thing done soon," said guitarist Mike McCready. "It’s been a bit, it’s been a little while… It’s the longest I think we’ve had between records. We’ve got a bunch of songs ready to go… Hopefully it will be out, I don’t have a date on anything yet, though.”

Guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament also said back in January that they were “in the middle” of writing album number 11. Fingers crossed that means we'll hear the results soon…

Pre-sale for American Express presents BST Hyde Park is available via Pearl Jam Amex and Fanclub on December 2 at 10am, while Pearl Jam's BST pre-sale goes live at 10am on December 5.
