Killswitch Engage return with brand-new album, This Consequence
Six years on from 2019’s Atonement, Killswitch Engage will be releasing This Consequence in February: “It’s the exact record we needed to make…”
Massachusetts' finest Killswitch Engage have announced their new album Atonement, dropped a new single Unleashed, and unveiled a UK headline tour for this October.
Massachusetts metalcore kings Killswitch Engage have announced their brand-new album, Atonement, due out on August 16 via Music For Nations/Metal Blade Records.
To coincide with the news, the band have also, um, unleashed a new track: Unleashed. “Unleashed is about inner passion and rage coming up to the surface," explains frontman Jesse Leach. "We all have that wild within that often stays dormant until a tragic event triggers and awakens it. This song is about that awakening within. I feel we were able to capture something raw and intense on this song and I'm stoked for everyone to hear it! The new album Atonement is a reflection of perseverance and passion through the trials and suffering of our existence."
Meanwhile, of the record itself – which features guest appearances from former KSE vocalist Howard Jones on The Signal Fire, and Testament's Chuck Billy on Crownless King – guitarist (and producer) Adam Dutkiewicz says: “I want fans to enjoy this. When I listen to metal records, I get pumped up and excited. I hope our fans can get just as excited when they hear our songs and watch us play live. Do you really want to pay money to look at someone pretending to be a badass? It’s not what we do. If we’re laughing, we’re enjoying it – and we are enjoying this one.”
